The
'Main' Family
Trevor and Sherry both grew up in homes where Christ was head.
Through the influence of their parents and church families they
both came to place their faith in Jesus Christ and accept Him as
Lord. Camp Kahquah provided the setting where Trevor, as a nine
year old camper, prayed with a counsellor and received Jesus as
His Saviour. Through the ministry of the Wainfleet Brethren in Christ
Church Trevor found encouragement, instruction and affirmation of
the Lord's leading toward the mission field. Sherry turned to Jesus
as her Saviour during a Grade 8 Sunday School Class. The Zurich
Mennonite Church provided love and nurture for her, and was the
place where an interest in missions was sparked. During their teenage
years Trevor and Sherry offered themselves to serve the Lord wherever
He would lead, including missions if this would be His will.
Both Trevor and Sherry graduated from Emmanuel Bible College, Kitchener,
Ontario, with degrees emphasizing missions. During their early college
days they found themselves serving together on the college's missions
committee and met regularly at mission's prayer meetings. During
the summer of 1988 Trevor and Sherry participated on short-term
mission assignments. Trevor served with the Northern Canada Evangelical
Mission in the North-West Territories among the Dene people, while
Sherry served with the Mennonite Board of Missions, working with
the children of migrant workers in Colorado. Their common interest
in missions was a very significant part of their growing relationship.
They were married on August 4, 1990.
In their final years of study before graduation from college, Trevor
and Sherry had shared their interest in missions with Bishop Harvey
Sider. Bishop Sider encouraged them toward pastoral service in North
America as a means through which God could further prepare them
for future missionary service. In a manner beyond their imagination,
God opened a door for service at the congregation which they were
attending at the time. The Mains were invited to begin serving as
the pastoral couple at the Rosebank Brethren in Christ Church, Ontario,
Canada, in January 1991. Trevor was ordained in April 1995. Throughout
their more than six years of service at Rosebank, they found joy
in ministry, grew spiritually, and learned many valuable lessons
God is utilizing in their current ministry in Venezuela with Brethren
in Christ World Missions, which began in June 1997.

Nate
& Kathy Bert
Nathan and Cathy Bert have been involved in service with Brethren
in Christ World Missions since 1976. From 1976 to 1979, they served
at Macha Seconday School, Zambia, Africa. Cathy taught science and
Nathan worked as bursar and maintenance supervisor. In 1981, they
moved to the Bronx, New York and were directors of the Bronx Community
Service Ministries, then under Brethren In Christ Home Missions.
During this time, they were active in discipling and counseling
the young adults who participated in the voluntary service program.
In 1988, the Berts with their three boys began serving in Nicaragua
under International Placement Service, a parallel organization
of Brethren in Christ World Missions. Under this program, Nathan
and Cathy were self-supporting, with Nathan teaching at the National
University of Nicaragua (UNAN) and Cathy taught both at the American
Nicaragua School and the Nicaragua Christian Academy. Their main
priority, however, was working as resource people for the Nicaragua
Brethren in Christ church.
Since 1994, the Berts have been full-time missionaries. In Nicaragua,
Nathan continued teaching at the university and served as resource
person for the Nicaragua Brethren in Christ churches and taught
two-day pastor training seminars. Cathy home schooled their sons,
served as a resource person for other home-school parents, and
did Sunday school workshops.
Following study at Ashland Theological Seminary, Nathan and Cathy
were assigned to Honduras in July of 1998. Nathan’s assignment
has been that of pastoral training and leadership development.
He set up five pastoral training centers around the country and
initiated a second level of training for those pastors who finished
the first level of training. Cathy has been teaching science at
both the American School in Tegucigalpa and currently at the Los
Pinares (Pine Grove) Academy, which is a Christian school. She
has also been serving in areas of Sunday school workshops, helping
to set up Sunday school curriculum and traveling with Nathan as
a resource person for Sunday school teachers.
Nathan and Cathy were married in August 30, 1975. He graduated
from Hunter College, Manhattan, N.Y. with a B.A. degree in computer
science and later on graduated from Ashland Seminary with a Masters
of Theology degree. Cathy obtained a B.A. degree in biology from
Messiah College and a M.Ed. from Fitchburg College in MA. They
have three adult sons, Matt and his wife, Renita, Philip and Ryan.

Tim
& Lori Zimmerman
Tim's involvement in missions started at the age of one year when
his parents returned to their ministry with Eastern Mennonite Board
in Honduras , Central America . As an active boy playing with neighborhood
boys, he was immersed in the language, culture and way-of-life on
the northern coast of Honduras . At the age of 11, Tim returned
to the United States with his family. After a few years, they settled
in Juniata County in Pennsylvania .
Lori grew up in a Christian family that was very active in the
Cedar Grove Brethren in Christ Church . Lori's first connection
to being in missions was a youth group trip to Pharr , Texas , teaching
Bible School . During her time as a summer missionary with Child
Evangelism Fellowship, she felt strongly that she would someday
be involved in full-time service.
Tim attended Vale Institute for Auto Mechanics. Lori attended Messiah
College and Harrisburg Area Community College , where she graduated
with an Associate Degree in Human Services. They married In September
of 1987.
Three years into their marriage, they felt called to the mission
field on a short-term basis. They entered the Youth Evangelism Service
(YES) program. This included three months of intense discipleship
training, followed by language study in Guatemala and outreach in
Honduras . During the 11-month YES term, their team visited Mennonite
and BIC churches throughout the country of Honduras , presenting
evangelistic drama, music and testimony programs, as well as volunteering
in communities and doing some construction.
After the YES experience, Tim and Lori both worked at Messiah Village
, Tim as mechanic and Lori as Activities and Volunteer Director,
and then as Communications Coordinator. They have been active members
of the Dillsburg BIC Church . They also were part of the launch
team for the NewCreation BIC church plant.
Tim and Lori were involved in the Teens in Missionary Service (TIMS)
program for seven years, leading two cross-culture teams and assisting
with training camp each summer. Tim was involved with several work
teams to Latin America, as well.
They and their two children, Lydia (1996) and Aaron (2000) went
to Honduras with BICWM in April 2002 to develop a 9- to 12-month
internship program, STEP, for young adults who wish to explore full-time
mission service.

Honduras Mission Trip of 2005 Mooretown Church
sent 15 people on a mission trip to Honduras in August 2005. We
help with another Brethren in Christ Church build in Tegucigalpa,
and hosted a Bible Camp with children in the afternoon of the first
